A Sacred Valley Wedding in Cusco, Peru

Some weddings feel connected to a place from the very beginning.
Cami and Franco’s wedding in Cusco’s Sacred Valley brought together family, tradition and the incredible landscape of the Andes. The day began with a religious ceremony at Tío Bamba church and continued at Tambo del Inka, where the celebration unfolded surrounded by the mountains and the quiet beauty of the valley.
I photographed and filmed their wedding using both digital and film, allowing the story to move between spontaneous moments, intimate portraits and the energy of the celebration.

A Wedding in the Sacred Valley
The Sacred Valley has a way of making a wedding feel larger than the day itself. The mountains, the light and the history of the region are always present, creating a setting that feels meaningful without needing much embellishment.
For couples planning a destination wedding in Cusco, the valley offers an experience that goes beyond a single venue. Guests can travel together, explore the region and share time in a landscape that feels completely different from anywhere else.
Cami and Franco’s celebration was rooted in that sense of place. Their wedding brought together a religious ceremony, a beautiful reception and the people closest to them in one of Peru’s most extraordinary destinations.
Cami and Franco
The day began at the church of Tío Bamba, in the Sacred Valley of Cusco. The religious ceremony added a sense of tradition and depth to the celebration, surrounded by the architecture and atmosphere of the region.
There was something especially moving about seeing the day begin quietly before the celebration opened up at the hotel. The transition from the church to the reception gave the wedding a natural rhythm, with each part of the day carrying its own energy.
From Tío Bamba to Tambo del Inka
After the ceremony, the celebration continued at Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in the Sacred Valley. The hotel provided a warm and elegant setting for dinner, conversation and the moments that brought everyone together.
The contrast between the historic church and the refined atmosphere of the hotel made the story visually rich. There were quiet details, emotional moments and plenty of movement as the day evolved from ceremony into celebration.
For a destination wedding photographer in Cusco, that variety is one of the reasons the Sacred Valley is so rewarding to photograph. The landscape, architecture and people are constantly changing the feeling of the day.
Film and Digital Wedding Photography
I photographed and filmed Cami and Franco’s wedding using both digital and film.
Digital photography allows me to respond quickly to the movement and emotion of a wedding day. Film brings a different rhythm, with its texture, color and slower way of seeing.
I do not want the two formats to look identical. I prefer to let each one contribute something different to the story, moving between documentary moments and a more editorial approach when the light, architecture or landscape called for it.
The goal is always to create photographs and films that feel honest to the experience, while leaving enough room for the couple and their guests to live the day without constantly thinking about the camera.

A Destination Wedding Photographer in Cusco
Cusco and the Sacred Valley offer an incredible setting for couples planning a destination wedding in Peru. From historic churches and ancient landscapes to contemporary hotels and intimate celebrations, the region has a visual language all its own.
What I love most about photographing weddings here is the relationship between the people and the place. The mountains are not just a backdrop. They shape the pace, the light and the feeling of the entire celebration.
Cami and Franco’s wedding was a beautiful example of that connection: a meaningful ceremony, a welcoming celebration at Tambo del Inka and a day that felt deeply connected to Cusco.
