Some weddings are remembered for the details. Others for the people. Adri and Nate’s wedding at Finca Las Caobas had both, but what stayed with me most was the energy.

Set outside Lima, surrounded by open landscapes and greenery, Finca Las Caobas was the setting for a weekend that felt intimate, modern and completely relaxed. Around 150 friends and family came together to celebrate them, with a symbolic ceremony officiated by their own friends and a party that eventually took over the night.

I photographed the day on both digital and film, letting each format tell a different part of the story.

A Wedding at Finca Las Caobas

Finca Las Caobas is located south of Lima, away from the pace of the city. The property combines large green spaces with warm, minimalist interiors, creating a setting that feels contemporary without losing its connection to nature.

That contrast was one of my favorite things to photograph.

There is room to move between gardens, terraces and indoor spaces throughout the day, which gives a wedding a completely different rhythm. Instead of having everything happen in one room, the celebration can evolve naturally from one environment to another.

For couples planning a destination wedding in Lima, it is also the kind of place that can turn the wedding into more than a single event. The house and bungalows make it possible to stay close to family and friends and spend more time together before and after the celebration.

Adri & Nate

The ceremony felt especially personal because it was led by Adri and Nate’s friends.

There was no need for anything overly formal. Having people who actually knew them standing beside them made the ceremony feel intimate, spontaneous and genuinely connected to everyone there.

That same feeling continued throughout the day.

The wedding brought together around 150 guests, but it never lost that sense of closeness. There was always something happening somewhere: conversations in the gardens, people moving through the house, hugs, drinks, small moments between friends and family.

Those are usually the moments I am looking for.

Modern Wedding Design Surrounded by Nature

The visual direction of the wedding worked beautifully with the architecture of Finca Las Caobas.

Ken & Jesus Planners coordinated the wedding, while Colibri Wedding Design created the event design. Instead of competing with the venue, the styling worked with its open spaces, modern architecture and natural surroundings.

The result felt considered without feeling overly produced.

For me, that balance is important photographically. A beautiful wedding does not need every corner to become a backdrop. Sometimes the strongest images come from allowing the architecture, landscape, people and design to exist together.

Digital and Film Wedding Photography

I photographed Adri and Nate’s wedding using both digital photography and film.

Digital lets me react quickly to everything happening around me, especially during a wedding with this much movement. Film brings something different to the story: texture, color and a slower way of looking at a moment.

I do not want the two formats to look identical.

I like allowing each one to do what it does best.

Throughout the day I moved between documentary moments and a more editorial approach when the light, architecture or setting called for it. The goal was never to turn the wedding into a photoshoot. It was to create photographs with intention while leaving enough space for Adri, Nate and their guests to actually experience the day.

And Then They Destroyed the Dance Floor

This is probably what I remember most.

Once the party started, everyone went for it.

The energy changed completely and the dance floor became chaotic in the best possible way. People were jumping, dancing, laughing and completely forgetting about the cameras.

Those are some of my favorite moments to photograph at weddings.

Not because everything looks perfect, but because nobody is thinking about looking perfect anymore.

They are just there.

Planning a Destination Wedding in Lima, Peru

Lima offers a very different experience depending on where you decide to celebrate.

You can have an urban wedding close to the Pacific coast, a historic celebration surrounded by architecture, or travel south of the city to venues such as Finca Las Caobas where open landscapes and nature become part of the experience.

For destination weddings, venues outside central Lima can be especially interesting when the idea is to spend more than just the wedding day together.

Adri and Nate’s celebration was a perfect example of that.

A beautiful place, thoughtful design, their closest people around them and a dance floor that did not survive the night quietly.

That is the kind of wedding I love to photograph.
